May 7, 2010 - Montreal, QC, Canada - Beuchat in Canada is proud to announce its support and sponsorship of Canadian freediver athlete Nathalie Hebert as she is training to participate in the Freediving World Cup in Greece next month, after winning the Canadian national competitions earlier this year.
Nathalie Hebert started freediving fairly recently, in August 2007, when she was invited to join the “Freediving Night”, an event during which freedivers meet to do some freediving under shooting stars. A few weeks later, she was starting entry level training freediving and never stopped since then.
Nathalie competed for the first time in Ottawa, Canada, in Winter 2008 and went to the “Coupe d’apnée de Montréal” (Montreal Freediving Competition) in April 2008.
In April 2009 she completed her training to be judge for AIDA (International Association for the Development of Freediving) and went to Canadian national competitions where she finished in 3rd place.
Nathalie started the year 2010 with a participation at the 2010 Nationals where she finished in first place in the woman category.
Part of team Canada, Nathalie Hebert will be attending the 3rd Mediterranean Freediving World Cup in Kalamata, Greece, in June.
Nathalie is also involved in the Montreal freediving community as president of the CASM (Montreal freediving club).
